I partnered with Noah in the Test Kitchen to make these Tiramisu in Coupe Glasses! I love tiramisu and since Noah is great with cocktails, I thought it would be a fun collaboration! You get a coffee soaked vanilla cake, a light and creamy filling, and then that classic cocoa powder finish on top. The great thing about these is you can make them with a store bought cake, a box cake, or do a quick sheet cake. They come together fast and are great for parties!
For the cake:
We used a classic white sheet cake, but get creative and choose your own cake flavor.
Ingredients
For the cream filling
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, cold
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the soak
- 1 cup black coffee liqueur (or black coffee/espresso)
For the topping
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
Directions
- Step 1
Using the coupe glass, cut out 5 pieces of the cake until there are only scraps remaining.
- Step 2
Carefully cut the top off the cake pieces and then cut the cake in half.
- Step 3
Layer the coupe glasses starting with a piece of cake.
- Step 4
With a pastry brush, brush the soak on top of the cake. I added about 2 tablespoons of soak here.
- Step 5
With a spoon, dollop about 2 tablespoons of cream on top of the soaked cake layer.
- Step 6
Repeat the steps again with a piece of cake and the soak.
- Step 7
Add extra cream to the top layer of the soaked cake and using the back of a knife, remove excess cream to have a clean layer that reaches the lip of the coupe glass.
- Step 8
Continue this process until you’ve filled each coupe glass.
- Step 9
Let the cakes chill in the fridge for 1 hour or overnight. The longer you do this, the more the soak will moisten the cake!
- Step 10
Remove the glasses from the fridge and dust cocoa powder on top.
- Step 11
Enjoy!
