Seeing Green

We’ve got something new for you to add to your farmer’s market list: tatsoi. There have been a lot of greens around here lately, so for your next meal, forego the arugula and fill up your salad bowls with this Asian leafy green instead.

We’ve got something new for you to add to your farmer’s market list: tatsoi. There have been a lot of greens around here lately, but for your next meal, forego the arugula and fill up your salad bowls with this Asian leafy green instead.

Technically a member of the brassica family, tatsoi is a distant relative of broccoli, and has a slight bite of mustard flavor. It makes for great variety in a salad mix, but also holds up well in stir-fries. Find heads of tatsoi at your local greenmarket, or look for the loose-leaf version in larger grocery stores.
