Remembering the Master of French Cooking

Today, we’re celebrating Julia Child’s 100th birthday! We’ll always be thankful to the woman who brought aspics back into fashion (or tried), made important the proper trussing of a chicken, and publicly turned her nose up at diet food. Unless, of course, she was waiting for her steak to cook.

Help us celebrate with these reminders of her lasting charm:

A reflection on Julia’s recipes that home cooks make time and time again from The New York Times.

Proof that Julia stands the test of remixing (and our new cooking anthem).

A video tribute (and a prediction about Julia’s foie gras eating habits) from food writer Josh Ozersky, and another one from culinary great Thomas Keller.

And a blog created for her centenary, dedicated to all things Julia.
