In the Kitchen, Arm Yourself Wisely

Every cook needs to have an chef’s knife in their kitchen -- it will take you, quite literally, through so many foods that cross your counter. But how do you choose the right one? Brette posed this question to the community a while ago, when looking for a knife for her first kitchen. Now, The Wirecutter weighs in on the subject.  They tracked down a modestly priced Swiss knife that, when tested by America’s Test Kitchen, beat out more expensive German versions. If you want to get even fancier, though, they offer a slew of other chef-tested-and-approved knives that will make even the hardest squash feel like butter. We’ll let The Wirecutter thoroughly take you through the rest, but consider this added to our kitchen wish-list.  A Great Chef's Knife from The WireCutter
