Not Your Normal Loaf Cake
Here at Food52, we’re into weird loaf cakes. We hope you are, too. First, we wrote to you about avocados sneaking their way into pound cake batter. Just in case you err on the side of caution with your cake-making, we also found this lovely pistachio one. And now, we bring you hibiscus loaf cake. I think this makes us the resident authority for all things eccentric baked goods. (Also, edible flowers. We’re on top of it.) Instead of avocado, this time, elevate a normal loaf cake with hibiscus flowers, steeped in hot water just long enough to release their vibrant, tart flavors. I'd recommend adding this to your list. That’ll give us enough time to find you a new pound cake venture. Let Them Eat: Hibiscus Loaf Cake from Serious Eats
