What You’ll Need:

  • 1 fresh baguette
  • Paper dixie cups
  • Food safe wicks
  • Hand mixer (optional)
  • 3 cups of butter (6 sticks) softened at room temperature

Ingredients

Chai Butter

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon chai powder (ground up chai tea)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Garlic & Herb Butter

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Pinch of salt

Regular Butter

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Prep the Butters

  • Step 1

Whip together each flavored butter in separate bowls and melt them down.

Prep the Candle Molds

  • Step 1

Take 1 dixie cup and place it in the desired spot on your baguette or loaf.

  • Step 2

Cut holes tracing the cup and hollow them out, creating a small divet in the bread (this is where your butter will go).

  • Step 3

Using the kit of edible wicks, stick them to the bottom of each dixie cup and stabilize them with the popsicle stick or clip.

  • Step 4

Take your melted butter & pour each mixture into separate prepared cups.

  • Step 5

Let the butter re-harden in the fridge for 30-40 minutes.

  • Step 6

Once your butter is hardened, cut a small slit on the lip of each dixie cup and peel away the cup, revealing your butter candle.

  • Step 7

Place each candle into its spot on the baguette.

  • Step 8

Light the wicks and let slightly melt for 4-5 minutes.

  • Step 9

    Enjoy!
