Hot Honey Prosciutto Pizza Bites

These Hot Honey Prosciutto Pizza Bites are a little sweet, a little salty, a little spicy and a whole lotta YUM. These perfect lil' bites are ready in 15 minutes and they're the perfect appetizer!
Ingredients
Hot Honey Prosciutto Pizza Bites
- 4 slices bread of your choice quartered (the sturdier the bread the better - my favorite to use is Ezekiel bread)
- 8 slices of prosciutto (about 4 oz)
- 1 cup low-moisture mozzarella, sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup hot honey
- 1/4 cup fresh arugula
- freshly cracked black pepper
Hot Honey
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1 small dried chili, cut in half (chile de árbol or bird's eye chili)
- Optional for extra heat: 1-2 pinches of cayenne powder)

Instructions
- Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- Step 2
Lay the quartered bread slices onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and toast In the oven for 5 minutes.
- Step 3
While the bread is toasting, pour the honey, ACV, chili flakes, dried chili and cayenne powder to a small pot over medium-low heat. Warm through for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour into a separate container to cool and set aside.
- Step 4
Once the bread is lightly toasted, add an individual slice of mozzarella to each toast, then layer on half a slice of prosciutto on each and pop back into the oven for 4 minutes.
- Step 5
Lower the baking sheet to the lowest oven rack and broil on high for 2 and a half minutes.
- Step 6
Next, spoon over the hot honey on each, crack a little pepper and add a leaf or two of arugula on each pizza bite.
- Step 7
Plate and serve with additional hot honey. Best eaten immediately.
