The first time I took a pickleback shot, the brine came from a Costco-sized jar of generic brine and the whiskey was one step up from a plastic bottle. You could make this classier by using artisanal pickles and small-batch whiskey. Or you could not.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce whiskey
  • 1 ounce pickle juice

  • Step 1

    Pour whiskey into a shot glass.

  • Step 2

    Pour pickle juice into a shot glass.

  • Step 3

    Take a shot of whiskey. Chase with pickle juice. Repeat as necessary.
