Inspired by Tartine Bread's much more elegant version


Ingredients

  • a small bowl of hummus (left to your discretion)
  • 2 cans of sardines, 4 oz
  • 1 loaf of country bread

Directions

  • Step 1

    Toast slices of bread. Rub with garlic, if desired. If you have cilantro or parsley, chop coarsely and mix with the hummus.

  • Step 2

    Spread hummus thickly on toast. Pile sardines on top. Sprinkle with smoked paprika, if you have it.
