Pantone, international purveyors of color, have graced us with 2018’s official color of the year. Its most recent choice is surprisingly bold; it’s electrifying and elegant. It’s…Ultra Violet.

The purple hue is decidedly shocking. Pantone describes Ultra Violet as “the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now.” Now that is a dramatic description, but one I can get behind. Color me interested, that’s for sure. Ultra Violet hearkens to royalty, artistic ingenuity. It feels warm and inviting yet effortlessly distant. Is this how we’re trying to be for 2018? Perhaps.
