Meet the Croll: The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
This hybrid will change the way you sandwich
Published On

The croissant is one of the better elements you can incorporate into your sandwich-making routine. The flake, the butter, the buttery flake. Bookending your veggies, your meat, your cheese with a soft croissant is decadent but worth it. They lend to the occasion a richness that rye or sourdough could only dream of providing.
But like all good things, the croissant, too, has its flaw: The fillings can never quite contort to the croissant’s unique design. Finding cold cuts and sliced cheese in the shape of a crescent is no easy feat. But if the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain.
The hybrid between a croissant and a roll is the best of both worlds: The taste and softness of a croissant with the practicality of a roll. And because sandwiches are usually made to be eaten on the go, Asda has reduced the croissant's characteristic flake to reduce mess. The croll is the perfect palette upon which to build your sandwich.
The croll is available at Asda locations. Which are only in the U.K. For now, I guess, I can only dream.
